Refund Policy
Last updated: July 8, 2026
Personal Guitar Trainer is operated by Brandon D’Eon Music Inc., a Canadian company and the company behind 52 Week Guitar Player.
This Refund Policy explains how free trials, cancellations, pauses, freezes, extensions, teacher changes, lessons, lesson packages, and refunds work for Personal Guitar Trainer.
By starting a free trial, purchasing a membership, purchasing lessons, purchasing a lesson package, or using Personal Guitar Trainer, you agree to this Refund Policy.
1. Monthly Billing
Personal Guitar Trainer is currently billed at $595 USD per month, unless a different price, currency, billing schedule, or payment arrangement is stated on the applicable checkout page, sales page, invoice, agreement, or written offer.
Your billing date is based on the date your paid membership begins.
For example, if your paid membership begins on January 1, your next monthly billing date would normally be February 1.
Monthly memberships are designed to provide more flexibility than annual memberships.
2. Annual Billing
We may offer annual billing from time to time.
Annual memberships are paid upfront for a one-year membership term unless a different term is stated on the applicable checkout page, sales page, invoice, agreement, or written offer.
Annual billing may include a discount compared to monthly billing. This discount is offered in exchange for a longer upfront commitment.
Because annual memberships are discounted upfront commitments, annual payments are generally non-refundable after the annual term begins, except where required by applicable law or where we approve an exception in writing.
If you cancel an annual membership during the annual term, cancellation prevents future renewal but does not automatically entitle you to a prorated refund.
In certain situations, we may choose to offer a pause, freeze, extension, account credit, teacher change, partial refund, or another reasonable accommodation at our discretion.
3. Free Trials
We may offer free trials from time to time.
Unless otherwise stated, a valid payment method is required to start a free trial.
By starting a free trial and providing payment information, you authorize us or our payment processor to charge your payment method when the trial period ends, unless you cancel before the end of the trial.
The trial length, included services, billing start date, subscription price, and cancellation instructions will be shown on the applicable checkout page, sales page, or written offer.
If you cancel before the end of the free trial, you will not be charged.
If you do not cancel before the end of the free trial, your membership will automatically convert to a paid subscription at the price shown at checkout.
We reserve the right to modify, limit, or discontinue free trials at any time.
4. Lessons and Lesson Packages
We may offer one-on-one guitar lessons as an optional add-on for students enrolled in Personal Guitar Trainer.
Lessons are not generally offered as a standalone service to non-students. To purchase or participate in lessons, you must be enrolled in Personal Guitar Trainer unless we approve an exception in writing.
Lessons may be sold individually where offered, or in prepaid lesson packages, such as 12-lesson packs or 24-lesson packs. Each lesson is typically 45 minutes unless a different lesson length is stated on the applicable checkout page, sales page, invoice, agreement, or written offer.
If you purchase a lesson package, you are purchasing the number of lessons stated at checkout or in the applicable written offer. For example, if you purchase a 12-lesson package, you receive access to 12 one-on-one lessons, subject to this Refund Policy, our Terms and Conditions, and any scheduling or cancellation rules that apply.
Lesson packages are for personal use only and may not be transferred, resold, shared, or assigned to another person unless we approve it in writing.
5. How to Cancel
You may request cancellation by contacting us at:
You may also request cancellation by notifying your assigned teacher in writing.
For clarity, cancellation requests should be made in writing, such as by email, direct message, or another written communication method used for the program. This helps us confirm the date of your request and avoid confusion.
To avoid being charged for the next billing period, you should submit your cancellation request before your next scheduled billing date.
To avoid being charged after a free trial, you should submit your cancellation request before the free trial ends.
Cancellation requests are effective once they are received and processed by our team.
6. Refunds for Past Billing Periods
We do not provide refunds for past billing periods that have already been completed.
For example, if you were billed for January and continued using the service during January, we will not refund the January billing period after it has ended.
This applies even if you missed practice days, did not submit progress videos, did not complete your routines, did not attend calls, did not attend lessons, did not communicate with your teacher, or did not fully use the service during that period.
7. Prorated Refunds for Monthly Memberships
If you cancel during an active monthly billing period, we will provide a prorated refund for the unused portion of that current monthly billing period only.
For example, if you are billed on February 1 and cancel on February 15, you may receive a prorated refund for the unused portion of February.
You would not receive a refund for January or any earlier billing period.
Prorated refunds are based on the date your cancellation request is received and processed by our team.
8. Annual Membership Cancellations
Annual memberships are discounted upfront commitments and are generally non-refundable after the annual term begins.
If you cancel an annual membership during the annual term, cancellation prevents future renewal but does not automatically entitle you to a prorated refund.
Annual memberships are not intended to function as discounted monthly memberships that can be cancelled at any time for an automatic prorated refund.
In certain situations, we may choose to offer a pause, freeze, extension, account credit, teacher change, partial refund, or another reasonable accommodation at our discretion.
Any exception must be approved by us in writing.
9. Refunds for Lessons and Lesson Packages
Used lessons are non-refundable.
A lesson is considered used once it has been delivered, missed without sufficient notice, cancelled too late under the applicable rescheduling policy, or otherwise counted as used under this Refund Policy or our Terms and Conditions.
Lesson packages are prepaid packages and are generally non-refundable once purchased, except where required by applicable law or where we approve an exception in writing.
If you purchase a lesson package and are unable to continue, contact us as soon as possible. Depending on the circumstances, we may offer rescheduling, a teacher change, an extension, account credit, a modified arrangement, a partial refund, or another reasonable accommodation at our discretion.
If a partial refund is approved for a lesson package, the refund will apply only to unused lessons. Used lessons will not be refunded.
If a partial refund is approved, the amount may be calculated based on the number of unused lessons remaining, the amount you actually paid for the lesson package, any discount included in the package, and any applicable payment processing or administrative considerations.
Lesson packages are not intended to function as discounted single lessons that can be freely refunded after purchase.
10. Lesson Scheduling, Rescheduling, and Missed Lessons
You are responsible for attending scheduled lessons on time.
If you need to reschedule a lesson, you should notify your teacher or our team as soon as possible.
Unless otherwise stated in writing, we require at least 24 hours’ notice to reschedule a lesson.
If you miss a scheduled lesson, arrive too late for the lesson to reasonably proceed, or cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice, the lesson may be counted as used and may not be rescheduled or refunded.
We may make exceptions at our discretion for emergencies, illness, technical issues, or other reasonable circumstances.
If a teacher needs to reschedule a lesson, we will make reasonable efforts to reschedule the lesson or provide another suitable arrangement.
11. Pauses, Freezes, and Extensions
We understand that illness, injury, travel, family issues, work demands, or other life events may temporarily prevent a student from practicing, participating, or attending lessons.
If you are unable to participate for a period of time, contact us as soon as possible.
At our discretion, we may offer one of the following:
A temporary pause or freeze
An extension of your membership term
A lesson package extension
Account credit
A modified practice plan
A teacher change
Another reasonable accommodation
Pauses, freezes, extensions, credits, and accommodations are not guaranteed and must be approved by us in writing.
A pause, freeze, extension, credit, or accommodation does not automatically create a refund unless we agree to that in writing.
We are more likely to approve a pause, freeze, extension, or accommodation when the request is made promptly, the reason is legitimate, and the student intends to continue with the program.
12. Teacher Changes
Personal Guitar Trainer may assign, reassign, or change teachers, coaches, or support team members at our discretion.
If your assigned teacher becomes unavailable, leaves, or is no longer able to continue working with you, we may assign you to another teacher.
We will make reasonable efforts to provide a smooth transition and maintain the quality of your experience.
If your teacher changes and the new teacher arrangement does not work for you, contact us.
Depending on the circumstances, we may offer a teacher change, pause, freeze, extension, lesson package extension, account credit, partial refund, or another reasonable accommodation at our discretion.
Teacher changes do not automatically create a refund unless we agree to that in writing or unless required by applicable law.
13. No Refunds for Non-Use
Refunds are not provided for:
Missed practice days
Missed calls
Missed lessons
Failure to submit progress videos
Lack of participation
Failure to complete assigned routines
Failure to communicate with your teacher
Failure to use the service
Failure to schedule or use purchased lessons
Unused time from previous billing periods
Vacations, schedule conflicts, or changes in availability, unless we approve a pause, freeze, extension, credit, or other accommodation in writing
Dissatisfaction caused by not following the program or not participating
14. Physical Limitations, Illness, or Injury
If you develop an illness, injury, physical limitation, hand issue, wrist issue, tendon issue, repetitive strain issue, or another condition that prevents you from practicing, participating, or attending lessons, contact us as soon as possible.
Depending on the circumstances, we may offer a pause, freeze, extension, lesson package extension, modified practice plan, account credit, teacher change, partial refund, or another reasonable accommodation at our discretion.
We do not automatically provide refunds because a student becomes unable to participate due to illness, injury, travel, schedule conflicts, or personal circumstances.
Nothing in this section limits any rights you may have under applicable consumer protection laws.
15. Special Offers or Guarantees
If we offer a special refund guarantee, promotional offer, custom payment arrangement, lesson package offer, or special cancellation term, the specific terms of that offer will apply.
Those terms may be listed on the applicable checkout page, sales page, agreement, invoice, or written communication from us.
If there is a conflict between this Refund Policy and the specific written terms of a special offer, the specific written terms of the special offer will apply.
16. Refund Method
Approved refunds will generally be issued to the original payment method used for the purchase.
Refund processing times may vary depending on Stripe, your bank, credit card provider, or payment processor.
We are not responsible for delays caused by your bank, credit card provider, or payment processor.
17. Chargebacks and Billing Disputes
If you believe you were charged in error, please contact us at info@52weekguitarplayer.com so we can review the issue.
Filing a chargeback or payment dispute does not automatically cancel your membership, lesson package, or payment obligation.
If a chargeback, payment dispute, or failed payment occurs, we may suspend or terminate your access to Personal Guitar Trainer, practice routines, teacher feedback, lessons, community access, or related services while the issue is being reviewed.
18. Consumer Protection Rights
Nothing in this Refund Policy limits any rights you may have under applicable consumer protection laws.
Because customers may access or purchase our services from outside Canada, nothing in this Refund Policy is intended to limit any non-waivable consumer protection rights you may have in your province, state, country, or other jurisdiction.
19. Changes to This Refund Policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time.
If we make material changes, we may notify you by posting the updated Refund Policy on our website, updating the “Last updated” date, or contacting you directly where appropriate.
Your continued use of the website or services after an update means you accept the updated Refund Policy.
